Dear Blog,

It's NYE and I am lucky enough to be spending a quiet evening at my Mom's house after a lovely turkey dinner at my Grandparents. I've been thinking back on the year and here are the highlights in no particular order:

-  our winter vacation in California for Allan and Natalie's wedding and spending a week on the beach. 

-  Stephen finishing the back mud room of our house

-  Stephen finishing our garage roof!

-  a weekend in Rochester with great friends and toddlers. 

-  work with a record breaking festival and some really challenging and interesting concerts with a fantastic staff. 

-  Felix starting JK and his easy transition and love of school

-  Wilbert becoming a person and talking in full sentences if not paragraphs. 

-  our family road trip to Saskatchewan in August and introducing Stephen to camping

-  my little ponies live. 

-  great adventures at the Carlini cottage

-  play dates with friends, neighborhood walks, swimming lessons, trips to the zoo, picnics, splash pads, tobaggans, royal winter fair, the aquarium

-  a kid free week in California for work and an awesome weekend in San Fran with the hubby

-  Felix got his tonsils removed

-  Wilbert got stitches in his forehead

-  a spur of the moment road trip to the butterfly conservatory for Felix

- new babies made by friends and relatives especially Dominic, Una, Finnley, Isla, Layne

-Stephen didn't break his arm/wrist

A good year indeed, and can't wait to see what 2014 has in store.

I need to get back at this blogging thing!  Here are some more pics of recent days. 

Felix has been building a garage in the backyard. It is really starting to take shape. 

Stephen is taking a class this fall. Every Tuesday night the boys and I make chocolate pudding. They love it. 

We let the boys stay out late in their PJs and took them to Nuit Blanche.

What We Did on our Summer Vacation

We had an incredible summer vacation driving over 5000 kms and camping with our 1 & 3 year olds. I am amazed at how well everyone did and how much fun we had. 

Stephen and I spent a lot of time planning and organizing and it was well worth it as we had 0 ish meltdowns in the car and everyone had fun. Felix loves camping!

Imagination

The last few months we have really seen Felix's imagination come to life. This has meant some bad dreams and having to check under the bed for monsters, but also a lot of cuteness.

There is a dragon named Cabby who lives in our front closet. I have to say bye to Cabby each morning before work.

Tonight Felix wanted to know if I put up some new signs outside our house that read "No Monsters Allowed".

He spent a good half an hour lining up his trucks and tractors and then they made a latte and a salad together. He used homemade salad dressing with "binnegar".
