Final Weekend as a Torontonian

I've lived in Ontario for the past 6 years, bummed around Europe & Jasper & tents in friends basements for the year before that, and now I'm headed back to Saskatchewan with husband in tow (I hope I get some brownie points for helping to increase the population) to start a sweet new job.

We had a weekend of goodbye's. On Friday night, my Toronto colleagues held a going away bash at where else but Hooter's! They have a fantastic rooftop patio and we got to enjoy some sunshine along with delicacies such as deep-fried pickles and wings. I presented my colleagues with autographed photos of me and they presented me with a gorgeous necklace made of "horn". How appropriate and thoughtful. Too bad about all of those rounds of tequila.

Stephen & I hosted a SUPER FANTASTIC yard sale on Saturday. A new experience, but we were quite successful in selling our junk. Most surprising items sold: a floor sample($.05), driftwood ($4), and my broken laptop ($15). Stephen got a nice redneck sunburn which fit perfectly with our end of day activity - deep frying a turkey. Dessert was incredible and we had a lot of fun with Kate, Sacha, Brad, and Karen (once she finally hitch-hiked over).

Yesterday, my fabulous M-I-L hosted a goodbye open house for Stevie & I. We spent a lovely afternoon on the brand new deck eating and visiting and saying goodbye. Our beloved Keith Richards is spending the week in Caledon East as we get our move finished - she was definitely taking advantage of the all-you-can-eat cat food buffet. The Carlini's truly know how to throw a party for people as well as cats, and I don't think I'll be hungry for the road trip out West.
