I was planning a serious loser evening of going to the gym, ordering in chinese, watching scary movies, inserting razer blades into apples (ok not really), and handing out candy to any children who showed up at my house. All of those plans changed when I got an invite to meet up with Derek & Sofia and some of their friends for a drink after work.
We decided that at about 7pm we should head over to The Plains to see if there was any karaoke going on, but it seemed pretty lame so we decided to check out another fine Regina establishment - The Empire Hotel lounge. Unfortunately, the lady at the offsale told us that they can't find a waitress so the place is closed.
The obvious next choice for this night of high class Regina entertainment was the King's Head Bar & Lounge which is located in the Northgate Mall. We took the #2 bus up to the mall (probably the 3rd time I'd ever used transit in Regina). The bus was super clean and comfortable...too bad they only run every half hour. The patrons of the King's Head were all decked out for Halloween - a playboy bunny and a pimp were our servers, Derek made a nice friend in the washroom, and finally the karaoke began. We each sang a song and at one point there was a conga line around the bar...what an interesting place...highly recommended as a must on any Regina tourist itinerary.
