We drove down to good old Alameda, SK this afternoon (259 km away) to attend a joint 50th birthday party for my Uncle Murray and cousin Jamie. Suitably enough, the event took place in the local Senior's Centre.
We had a little bit of a roast for the two of them, my mom put together a power point of memories, and we ate delicious Saskatchewan delicacies.
Saskatchewan people love dips. Fruit dip, veggies and dip, chips and dip, salsa and chips...dipping stuff is awesome. The other fun Saskatchewan treat were the "matrimonial squares" known as "date squares" elsewhere.
It was a fun afternoon of visiting with family, playing balloons with the kids, passing babies around, and over-eating.
