I'm glad you did the long wall purple-- it will create a very dramatic and distinct space for your dining room! Looks great. Makes me want to paint... for about 5 seconds until I think of all the work.
Did you ask your neighbour what he thinks? He seems to be a bit of a colour expert. :)
